Kjell Ekdahl
Mr. Ekdahl was a Principal at Robertson Stephens in San Francisco for Equity Financial Products where he was responsible for the structuring and marketing of equity derivatives and structured products to corporate and individual investors. Prior to that, he was Director and Head of Equity Derivatives Marketing in North America for BNP Paribas in New York where he managed a team of salespeople covering North American institutional, corporate and individual investors. He supervised all aspects of pricing, structuring, and marketing of equity-linked products, hedging and option strategies. He sold both private and listed securities to investors, including mutual funds, pension funds, and hedge funds. Mr. Ekdahl also worked in Private and Structured Finance for Paribas Capital Markets in London and New York where he was responsible for selling private placements and closed-end funds and raising tax-efficient funds. He also helped hedge funds raise money from individual investors. Before joining Paribas, Mr. Ekdahl worked for Nordea and was based in Stockholm before relocating to Hong Kong and Tokyo where he sold bonds and structured products.
He began working as an Expert Witness in 2002 and has worked on cases involving mutual funds, closed-end funds, municipal bond arbitrage, structured finance, structured products, alternative investments, fixed income, equity hedging, option strategies, risk assessments, market manipulation, suitability, and account performances.
Mr. Ekdahl has a Bachelor of Arts from Lund University in Sweden and an Economics Major. He is also a graduate of the Royal Swedish Army School for Officers in the Reserve and served for six years as a Company Commander in the Reserve.
Michael Nevin
Mr. Nevin was the Head of Institutional Sales for the Equity Linked Solutions group at Bank of America in New York and later San Francisco. He was responsible for structuring, pricing, marketing, and secondary market trading of customized structured products. Prior to Bank of America, he was Director and Head of Institutional Equity Derivatives Sales at Natixis (formerly CDC IXIS) in New York. In this role, he was responsible for all aspects of structuring, pricing, and marketing of equity derivative products for U.S. financial institutions. Mr. Nevin was also a Vice President, Derivatives Marketer at BNP Paribas in New York, where he provided both interest rate and equity derivative asset/liability management solutions for the firm’s U.S. financial institution clients. He then rose to manage a team specializing in equity and fund derivative solutions for all North American financial institutions.
Mr. Nevin began working as an Expert Witness in 2008. He has worked on cases involving bonds, equities, mutual funds, closed-end funds, structured products, alternative investments, equity hedging, option strategies, trade execution, margin liquidations, and security/portfolio performance and risk assessments.
Mr. Nevin has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics with a minor in Mathematics from University of Colorado at Boulder and a Master’s degree in Finance from the University of Wisconsin – Madison, where he was selected to be a member of the university’s prestigious Applied Securities Analysis Program. Concurrent with graduate school, Mr. Nevin was employed by First Madison Advisors as a quantitative analyst with the responsibility of creating robust market timing models.
